The Book Slayers

Garfield Logan has spent his entire life being overlooked. Even in a small town like Eden, Georgia, the seventeen-year-old with green streaks in his hair can’t find a way to stand out–and the clock is ticking. Senior year is almost over. If Gar doesn’t find a way to impress the social elite at Bull Creek High School, he will never know what it’s like to matter. Gar’s best friends, Stella and Tank, can’t understand why he cares what other people think, and they miss their funny, pizza-loving, video game-obsessed best friend.

Then Gar accepts a wild dare out of the blue. It impresses the popular kids, and his social status soars. But other things are changing, too. Gar grows six inches overnight. His voice drops, and suddenly, he’s stronger and faster. He’s finally getting everything he wanted, but his newfound popularity comes at a price. Gar has to work harder to impress his new friends. The dares keep getting bigger, and the stakes keep getting higher.

When Gar realizes the extent of his physical changes, he has to dig deep and face the truth about himself–and the people who truly matter–before his life spirals out of control.

Tengo que decir que la trama la disfrute más del primero, pero las ilustraciones y los personajes me parecen más interesantes en este!

Lo que más me gustó fue que los colores son más vivos y además hay mucho mas color! La paleta no son sólo morados y grises como en el primer libro. Aquí hay azules muy brillantes, verdes (claramente por nuestro prota) y eso me gusta por dos motivos:

1. Este personaje no tiene amnesia. Por lo que hay menos huecos que rellenar, colorear.

2. Además de que es un personaje mucho menos atormentado. Es una persona muy feliz y vivaracha. Tiene mucho positivismo en lo que hace y eso se nota con los colores vivos y fuertes.

3. Nosotres como lectores ya somos conscientes de que hay algo detrás de todo esto gracias al primer volumen. Por lo tanto, volvemos un poco al primer punto: hay menos huecos que rellenar.

Ahora, hay más cosas que vamos descubriendo. Es despacito y poco a poco, pero nos van desvelando todo lo que hay detrás de estos personajes. Porqué tienen estos poderes, qué va a pasar con eso, hay más como elles…

Y claro, ahora que sé el título del tercer volumen pues bien no estoy. Porque MADRE MÍA, ante todo somos fangirls de lo que leemos. Aquí estoy yo para shippear a quien sea jeje
